I am a content provider for non-profits, small businesses and artists, a social media writer and website designer who has always made photography a part of my job.
Recent explorations and interests are Camera Obscura and ongoing Modify and Mail PostCard Mail Art. I am available for talks and demos.
Combining promotion and photography for 12 years I directed the ArtEast Open Studio Tour in Dutchess County, NY. I increased our digital footprint with a redesigned website, enewsletters, blog posts, and support for tourism and calendar listings and increased Facebook traffic. In 2017 ArtEast Open Studios received the Dutchess County Arts in Public Places Award.
I’ve become known for collaborative work with other artists and the community including the ongoing mail art postcard series. I was named the 2018 Dutchess County Executive Artivist for this work, ArtEast, and over 100 video interviews with artist and creatives.
Inspired by the mail art of Robert Johnson I solved a problem – how do I do more with my photographs? Now in the fourth year of this collaborative project I select an image, create a postcard, distributed widely, asking people to modify the image and return it to me. Creativity and imagination abounds as friends and strangers contribute their vision.
My Hudson Valley Art Speak interview series includes over 100 interviews with artists and creative individuals and groups. Produced monthly in a Comcast community access studio the show is directed and filmed with a crew of volunteers.
On the personal side…a native New Yorker, I grew up in Yonkers, and have been taking pictures forever. Why do I take pictures? Because I have to. Behind a camera I feel like I melt into the background and become a part of the larger scene
