Ann Heywood has had a lifelong interest in pottery and is using her life experiences to explore and experiment with firing methods, glazes and clays as she conducts a wide-ranging exploration into techniques and kilns. Her career as an art conservator, with a focus on archeological materials, gave her the opportunity to work with Egyptian pottery. Ann was intrigued by the beauty, signs of wear and imperfection and likes to build those qualities into her work.
